UGAT 38th Annual Conference Call for Participants

Dear colleagues,

On behalf of the Ugnayang Pang-Agham Tao, Inc. (UGAT), the professional association of anthropologists in the country, we would like to invite you, and members of your organization, to the 38th Annual National Conference, which is being hosted by the Department of Sociology and Anthropology of the Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU). It will be held at the Ateneo De Manila University campus in Quezon City on October 20-22, 2016.

This year, the theme of the conference is Circulating Anthropological Knowledge in the Public Sphere: Building Communities of Practice. The conference aims to discuss practices and relationships that contribute to the successes and/or failures in integrating anthropological knowledge into official policy and industry work.

We have a line-up of scholars who work in applied fields, as well as government practitioners to deliver keynote lectures. We feel that these discussions will be especially relevant to individuals in government, business, and educational institutions, as it addresses the nature of the interactions between anthropologists, on the one hand, and industry and the state on the other.

We hope you can join us in the conference and participate in the conversations on how to best engage anthropological knowledge in your work. Please see the attached documents for information on registration and accommodations in the area. Should you have any inquiries, please contact our secretariat at ugat.conference@gmail.com or at 0908-7784806 (Monica Santos) / 0908-8890203 (Joy Tadeo).

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,
